Your question is a bit strange. If you think about it, the native Americans, the "indians" were the original owners of the land from time immemorial and the "Americans" (the colonists) stole it from them and killed them in vast numbers by war, and disease. Thus how can the Americans "give up" new lands to the Indians.
If there were any Justice the land should all be given back to the Native american peoples and compensation paid for the theft, massacres and oppression they have suffered. A similar story applies to the native Hawaiian people and the Australian aboriginal people.
to reward native americans
Native Americans were forced to give up large amounts of land.
Americans took Native American lands away from them and forced them to move west to the worst lands. They took Native American children away from their parents and put them in schools taking away the Native American languages and culture. They gave them blankets infected with small pox which killed thousands.

The American Indians did not "Give" any of their land. It was Taken from them. Cheated from them, and the Americans Killed to get it. They were forced onto reservations and in a lot of cases murdered and forced to give up their traditions. Ask and Indian what they "Gave". The answer will be the same. All of it except for a the lil bit of lands they have in the west which are reservations...
because the white people had guns and diseases. At first Natives did not engage in warfare. they really did not know how to fight. Why? because most native were friendly to other tribes. and there was no need for war or fighting. and yes they did not have guns, weapons of mass distructions. also it is a fact white brought diseases with them. The Indians were constantly at war with each other. The nations fought over land mainly, and to procure slaves, and sacrifices. Read the history of Native Americans, they were forever fighting over the named reasons. Ojibwa vs Lakota, Cherokee vs Creek, Lakota vs Crow and Pawnee, etc.
They wanted to give land to new coming Americans so they would be on the Mexican side when Americans illegally came to Texas.
to increase support for the independence movement
noooo! because the Americans are nice, sweet, and helpful.but some people are mean in America so are the canadieans.
they pushed other people to other land
The confederation congress wanted to sell the nations western lands so that they could pay the nation's debts. They wanted to sell the land to the public.
because the U.s promised to give the indians food, clothing, and shelter.
