I can't recall any Chevy using a 302. It was the classic Ford small block used in early Mustangs. Chevrolet did produce a small block 302 used exclusively in the 1967 - 1969 Camaro Z/28.
It varies, The record for a single year between 1960 and 1969 was the Chevy Impala with 1,074,920 sold in 1965, but more Mustangs were sold than Impalas in 1966... but the best selling VEHICLE in the 1960's and for the last 35 years running is the Ford F 150 pickup truck
