Men in the 1920s were hit harder psychologically than women due to societal expectations of providing for their families being challenged by economic downturns such as the Great Depression. This loss of traditional roles caused a crisis of masculinity, leading to increased feelings of failure and inadequacy among men during this time period. Additionally, the pressure to conform to rigid ideals of strength and resilience made it harder for men to seek help for mental health issues.

How open was the athletic field to women in the 1920s and 1930s?

Women played women's sports in the 1920s and 1930s. Women's basketball had 3 women on one side of the court playing defense and 3 on the other side playing offense. When the defense got the ball after the opposing team made a basket or after the defense took it away, they had to take it down the court and then when they got it near the half way mark, they had to pass it to an offensive player on the other side. Women playing volleyball could hit the ball twice before the ball went to another player. So three different girls could hit the ball. It could be hit six times on one side of the net. Women played softball. There were 10 women on the field during a game. Balls, strikes, and outs were the same. Tennis, and golf were the same. Babe Zacharias played golf with the men and went on the men's tour. None of these court orders were necessary. If a woman was good enough, she simply competed with the men.

Where is the written rule that you cant hit a girl?

It's the law regarding assault. It doesn't say "don't hit a girl", the law applies to everyone regardless of gender. Hitting someone is assault. When people say "don't hit a girl" they mean because men presumably hit harder than women but not hitting girls is not in the law. The law says don't hit anyone.
