The palgue was bad because it spread so easily and the symptoms were horrible. Big boils sprouted on your neck. The black death was fatal.

There have been many plagues in our history. The term plague means a disease which spreads without control, killing or sickening many people (it can also refer to animals, since disease vectors cross from animals to humans). One of the most recent plagues is HIV.

The plague killed so many people for a number of reasons. One of them was because they did not know where it came from so they did not have any way to protect themselves from the rats that carried flees infected with the virus. Also because of the way they deposed of the bodies of the people who died. They just left them in the street and that caused many other people to catch the disease

They also thought it was a punishment from god so they didn't know how to get rid of it. Another reason why is because they didn't know anything about public health so they just dumped the dead bodies into the river and the toilets they had just ran straight into the river which people drank from.

Because the living conditions were so unsanitary. The plague was transmitted through infected fleas on rats. The unsanitary living conditions created the perfect environment for the rats to thrive, bringing their fleas with them. Humans were infected by these fleas.
The plague is also highly contagious, so people who interacted with infected persons were likely to become infected also.

Because it wiped out around 5o million people worldwide during the first outbreak alone in 1348.

The signs of Bubonic Plague were people began to feel very cold and tired. Painful swelling appeared under their armpits and around the groin and small blisters all over the body. This was followed by high fever and headaches. Many lingered unconcious for days before death. It was an extremely painful way to die.

Together, this and Pneumonic plauge (another form of Black Death) was responsible for over 100 million lives in the Middle ages worldwide.

Hope this helps!

Two reasons why many bodies of plague victims were not buried when the plague was at its worst in England?

Many bodies of plague victims were not buried because the death toll overwhelmed burial services, leading to mass graves being used. Additionally, fear of contagion meant that bodies were not handled or buried promptly as people were too scared to come into contact with them.

They didn't have one. They'd be dead. Unless, of course, you mean in modern days. Then, you'd most likely be treated with antibiotics and you'd live your life how you wished.

How did people avoid catching the black plague?

The Black Death was an outbreak of plague that killed a third to half the people in Europe during the period of 1347 to 1352. At the time there was very little anyone could do to avoid it. I have read that some walled towns in England brought in food, raised their drawbridges, and waited until it passed, with some success, but I cannot provide a reference for this. Today, the bubonic plague can be treated with modern medicine.

What did people think caused the plague?

There were lots and lots of different beliefs about the plague; people were so scared because they weren't sure what caused it. Some believed it was a punishment from God, some believed that foreigners or those who followed a different religion had poisoned the wells, some thought that bad air was responsible, some thought the position of the planets had caused the plague. All these different beliefs led to some strange attempts at escaping the plague and some even stranger cures. cw: Probably it was spread by the fleas on rats; hence, the love of cats.
