Actually, there wasn't much to suspend. While countries like England and Germany already had fully-functioning (and government-sponsored) television stations in operation by the 1930s, the US was later in making television available to the general public. The private companies that operated TV stations did not get most of them on the air until the late 1940s, in fact (due to a variety of reasons), so in 1941, there were just a handful of TV stations on the air, mostly in big cities like New York. Few people owned sets-- which were still extremely expensive, and with such limited programming, there wasn't much incentive to own one. The US government wanted to be cautious about what was being broadcast during the war, and there were censors that did oversight on radio and print. As for TV, since there was so little of it, it just seemed easier to cancel the broadcasts till the war was over.
