Beacause they rock!!! I have always loved The Beatles and their music and lyrics has always been so enchanting. It is extremely timeless and it will live on forever in the hearts of millions. But they influence people simply because they write great songs and inspiring music.
Because they were so successful, widely heard and enduring that many musicians have heard a lot of their music.
Even punk rock which had several "Beatle haters" members were influenced in the sense that several punk bands deliberately tried to avoid sounding like the Beatles.
The Beatles have sold the most albums in the world. They have sold over 600 million albums. With this much success, their induction into the hall of fame was well deserved.
All of them likes music and they all wanted their lives to surround music in some way, so that's the main reason!
