The loss of the German 6th Army at Stalingrad marked the furthest the Wehrmacht would go on the Eastern Front . It was significant morale booster for the Russian Army and the Russian people . The Germans never regained the initiative on the Eastern Front .

∙ 10y agoIt was a moral and tactical defeat as the lost the battle of Stalingrad and lost 80% of their initial force. It was a defeat as due to the defeat and ordeal some of the German soldiers had to suffer from, it made it unable to truly back the Soviets due to low moral.
