I honestly don't know how to answer you, but I have the same question for my social studies study guide(7th grade) I have no idea where my teacher got this question because it doesn't say A THING about these people. i looked up who they were and it said they were an ethic group from northern china and later went into rule supporting the mongols. My guess was that they were powerful people since they were able to rule for so long. They might have had good control over their people and sine they were kinda "buddies" with the mongols they had quite a support. Don't go with this unless somebody answers with a DECENT answer that is believable unlike mine. hope this helps
