There were female disciples.. for example, Mary Magdalene.. but becoz of the times.. they were mostly kept Behind the Scenes.. Another reason could be because Jesus "chose" his own disciples.. and if he wanted women to have a better position or more say.. he would have commanded it of the others.. In fact, the tradition is still followed by the Roman Catholic church, which still doesnt allow women as priests .. or lead a congregation ..
The answer depends upon the definition of "disciple". If the term is limited to the formal ruling council of twelve referenced in the gospels, then there may not have been women in that group. But, if the term is understood more broadly as "follower", or "associate", or "supporter", or "worker for the cause", etc., then it is clearly the case that women played vital roles in the activities of Jesus of Nazareth.
The first century Palestinian world was extremely patriarchal, and the extent to which Jesus broke down gender stereotypes and borders is actually quite remarkable. However, as the church became more structured in the generations following the crucifixion, it reverted to a patriarchal model.
It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true [John 8:17]
The 12 Disciples were not just a random number. Each men were chosen to represent each tribe of the people Jesus was sent to - the Jews.
On the Day of Resurrection each man plus Jesus will give testimony against each tribe that Jesus came and delivered the message to them as he was sent.
They were not among the "12" but he had several:
Many of these never met Christ directly but were converted by Paul or others in their travels.
It is not possible to answer this question objectively. As recorded in The Bible this is a fact, no reasons are given.
No. All males.
Jesus did have female disciples, but you must remember the events of the Gospels took place in a different culture and over 2000 years ago it wasn't the same in the world as it is now.
He did. There were women, such as Mary Magdalene, who followed or supported Jesus.
Jesus was betrayed by a man, Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus' 12 Disciples.
A Gangster Disciple Queen is a female Gangster Disciple her role is just as important as the male Gangster Disciples.
The possessive form of the plural noun disciples is disciples'.Example: His disciples' loyalty is remarkable.
Jesus' disciples
How many disciples? There were 12 disciples. Judas betrayed Christ, and was replaced by Mathias.
No God did not pick up the disciples , it was Jesus who chose the disciples.
Yes, there were women disciples of Jesus. Some prominent examples include Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Susanna, and Mary the mother of James. These women played important roles in Jesus' ministry and were present at significant events in the New Testament.
There was not a "Resurrection Dinner", per say. The eleven remaining disciples (sans Judas Iscariot) were gathered, mourning the death of Jesus, in Jerusalem. Jesus is said to have appeared amongst Them. They thought Jesus was a ghost, until He asked for food. He was given a broiled fish. Hardly a dinner, however it is the only time when food was eaten, post-Crucifixion, that was attended by Jesus and The Disciples. If You are referring to the Last Supper (pre-Crucifixion) there were thirteen men seated at the table; Jesus and all twelve of the male disciples. Bear in mind that there were also female disciples, Mary Magdalene being foremost of Them. However, according to Jewish traditions of the day, the female disciples would not have been seated with them; They would have been there to serve the food.
They all faithly remained Jesus disciples after his death.
