Because traditionally the men were the bread winners, and it was thought that the person supporting the family should get paid more while another who was not necessarily known to be supporting the family should get less. This is untrue logic for not all men and women support or don't support a family, but it's what happend :(
Men and women in the same job have equal pay because that is their right
Bad answer above. The Equal PAy Act applied to very few US workers. Men and women DO earn the same in the same occupations with the same seniority, because sex matters little in job performance. Skill and strength often matter.
Sex matters greatly in choosing an occupations. Women prefer occupations they can leave and return to over their careers, like teacher, nurse, or cook, rather than occupations one must exercise every year or fall behind, like engineer, scientist, or cop. Women DO leave the workforce and properly fall behind those with more experience and seniority in the same occupatioin.
The short answer is yes. Recent numbers look to be around 80 cents for every dollar a man makes.
No objective study in the last 20 years has found that women get paid less than men FOR THE SAME JOBS under the same circumstances, with the same qualifications and experience.
People get confused because the AVERAGE female worker earns less than the AVERAGE male worker, since the two sexes do not work the same occupations.
In the garment industry one reason why women were paid than men was because it was believed that men needed more money than women. Often it was believed that a man needed the money to support their family.
were paid less than half the wage of a man for the same work.
Women are paid less than men in the same jobs. Generally a woman makes 79 cents on the dollar that a man in the same job makes.
Depends on the job. We are not living in 1950s. Today pay rates are the same if the man and the women are doing the same job. Women can get paid higher than men if there job is more above.
this is because the man has less controling power on there body as compare to women.
No, if a man is divorced and has a child women will still be attracted to the man.
i think man and women should both not eat fat because it's not heathy
It was believed in the past that women will never pursue any career as seriously as a man would, because sooner or later they would want to leave it in order to devote themselves to raising children. It is now known that women can do other things than raise children, and can do those things as seriously as a man would, if they so desire.
yes the man should be taller than the women
There is no such word. Possibly you mean 'gigolo'. That is a man who is paid to dance with or escort women.
It was called the Equal Rights Amendment. It never got ratified so it was not really made into law. It is now before the Congress and President Obama. He want it to be passed and ratified. The women of the US do not have equal pay. I worked in a company doing the same exact job as another man. The company was an insurance company that was dominated by women employees. He worked in my unit. There were twelve women in my unit and the one man. He was paid more than we were. When I asked the female supervisor why he received more pay her answered shocked me. She said it was because he was the primary bread winner for his family and he needed the higher salary. This was in a unit with four or five women who were the sole bread winners for their kids. They did not get paid what he was paid. So this is still a problem that needs to be resolved in this nation. This is supposed to be a nation of meritocracy. Where merit determines who gets paid better not by gender. In shorter words it is sexist.
Hi, I think that the main obstacle is that women are less powerfull than man , and women have a very very good feeling that it is also imortant and usefull in life for them and for society
