Because Prince Philip is a man, not a chick.
Duke of Edinburgh
Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
Queen Elizabeth II's husband is Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Since Prince Philip was prince of Denmark and Greece prior to his marriage he retains the title of Prince. His only titles in Great Britain are Duke and the Queen consort.
I hate to break it to you, but there isn't one...... the current Queen is Elizabeth II, her husband is Prince Philip. Since he is her husband by marriage and not a direct descendant to the throne, he can't be 'King'. When they first got married, his title was 'His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh'. In 1957 the Queen granted her husband the title of Prince, his title is now 'His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh'. Next in line to the throne is the Queen and Prince Philip's oldest son, Prince Charles. When the Queen dies, he will be 'King Charles'.
Kate Middleton is famous for dating and then marrying Prince William of Wales.
No ! Camilla wasn't born into a Royal family - and therefore can NEVER have the title 'Queen' It's the same situation with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's husband, Philip. He wasn't part of a Royal Family, and thus has the title Prince. Camilla will have the title Princess Camilla when Charles accedes to the throne.
Phillip is Prince Phillip and not King Phillip because the throne of England was not rightfully his, he married in to the English Monarchy. In this instance had it been his by birth and he had married Elizabeth, Elizabeth would be Queen Consort. As it is, she is Queen Regnant and he cannot be considered Kings Consort as it is perceived a King holds more power than a Queen. So, Queen Elizabeth II is married to Prince Phillip (of Greece). He could have held the title of King had he been a King of some other monarchy by birth.
Because, since he was not born of royalty - he could not inherit the title of King. The same reason applies to Prince Philip - Her Majesty Queen's Elizabeth II's husband.
Yes if the queen allows her to have this title only the queen can give Katherine the title .
nothing
Elizabeth I , the Virgin Queen, was never married as this title implies. Elizabeth II, of course, married Prince Philip ( who is of Greek extraction, his mother was an Orthodox Nun)
Queen Elizabeth II is married to Prince Philip, her distant cousin. Before they married he renounced his royal title as Prince of Greece and Denmark and was named Duke of Edinburgh. He was made Prince of the United Kingdom in 1957. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in November 2012.
