Phillips
Philips owns the Magnavox trade name. Magnavox products are considered the "low" to "mid" range consumer products. They are manufactured in different factories than Philips products and usually carry a warranty of shorter duration.
The Sony will give the better picture quality when compared to the Magnavox.
Sounds like the LCD display panel has gone bad.
That's kind of arbitrary but Phillips and Magnavox are considered to be good brands, and have good track records. Sony is also very nice.
Although you can connect TV to PC via DVI to HDMI cable, the picture quality is not guaranteed. This is not recommended by manufacturer.
You can turn on magnavox converter boxes without remotes by going to the central control box and then pressing the reset button to accomodate the power button.
You need an HDTV for it to work and the TV has to have an HDMI connection. Then you need to turn your HDTV to the location for the HDMI that was connected
Must be the way you set up the HDMI control. The HDTV should come on when you turn the PS3 if the TV is off. You might look at what you are turning on the HDTV with. I use my cable remote and it turns on the cable box home theater and HDTV. I could set it up to also turn on the PS3 if I wanted too.
You need to turn your HDTV to the HDMI input the PS3 was plugged into. The HDTV will only switch automatically when you turn your PS3 on after the HDMI system settings have been set up on both your PS3 and HDTV and only the slim PS3 have HDMI sync
Magnavox was created in 1917.
Magnavox Odyssey² was created in 1978.
