because the sea water is salt water
Normal filtration can't remove salts because the ions to very small and can pass through most of the filtering medium. However, it is actually possible to filter out salts using Reverse Osmosis membrane and made a drinkable water.
Distilled (desalinated) water is fresh water and is safe to drink. The sea water has been boiled (killing bacteria) and the water vapour (steam) condensed back to water. You may find that the water is actually rather tasteless. This is because you are to used to drinking tap water, to which chlorine and other chemicals have been added, which are not in the distilled water.
Meshes and sand sieves are used to separate insoluble (non dissolvable) particles from contaminated water (eg. lake, sea water) in preparation for further treatment. An answer by a 13 year old girl :)
Filtering alone is not sufficient to make sea water fit to drink because sea water contains high levels of salt and other impurities. Simple filters are not capable of removing these substances effectively. Additional methods, such as desalination or reverse osmosis, are required to remove the salt and make sea water drinkable.
salt
the ocean or sea
by eating donuts and milk smashh somee food yalll
The process is desalination.
It is used today to make saltwater drinkable when you are at sea
put the metal on the floor bend it (curved) put sea water in it let the sun reflect on it (t will make the water drinkable) and do this when your thirsty
Yes it does but it tastes realy nasty and you can feel very ill.
Sea water contain sodium chloride (approx. 35 g/L and other salts and impurities; the concentrations of impurities in treated drinkable tap water are very low.
Well, salt is acidic and does anyone know how to get salt out of water yet?? Of all the people living in such countries, would there even be enough water for the fish to still live?? It's often hot around the 'seas' and salt probably cools them off like salt cools off a horse or cow or even a small pet, like a hamster or gerbil maybe.....
Desalination is the process of extraction of salts (generally sodium chloride) from sea water to obtain drinkable water, water for indistry, water for agriculture. But desalination can be applied to petroleum, soils an other materials.

Saudi Arabia is a vast desert. If desalinization was not used to turn the sea water on its borders into drinkable water, the population would die of thirst and dehydration.
no, human cannot drink from sea water directly, but desalinisation plants can remove the salt from sea water making it drinkable. It can be done now, but is very expensive to do, but in the future they might/will become more important and 'economical' to carry out.
