Press the brake pedal for 2 seconds then pull lever in gear.
If that does not work contact a dealer, many of the shifters have been damaged due to persons not pressing the brake pedal before trying to switch from Park.
If it's anything like my 98 avenger. All you have to do is re lock the car with the key or if you have a key fob lock it that way. It should disarm it once it goes off
The pivot bearing can cause your car from going into gear, once the car is started. The pivot bearing is located in the transmission.
Take off the 3 bolts that hold it in, get it out, its a bit tricky so use some force, then once you get it out, take the caps off and your there.
not long at all
I had a similar problem when I first got my Avenger. My remote was not working, so everytime I locked the door ( while open)the alarm would arm. This is the trick: Lock the door when it's closed, don't lock it when it's open otherwise the alarm will go off. OR You can disarm the alarm by unlocking the trunk with the key. I learned of this from a Dodge dealership. Had issues with the remote and once you lock the car from the inside or out it is armed. I ran into times where i would lock the door after getting in then once i started the car alarm would go off or once locked you cannot open the door from the inside or alarm will go off.
If it is the original fuel pump then it is probably telling you it is about to quit. have you changed the fuel filter lately?
To remove the driver's side window from a 1998 Dodge Avenger, first, safely disconnect the vehicle's battery. Next, remove the door panel by unscrewing any screws and carefully prying off the clips. Once the panel is off, detach the window regulator and any necessary wiring. Finally, carefully lift the window out of the track and remove it from the door.
It is a magnet that puts your engine back in the correct position once you turn your vehicle off so it will starrt again,I've had this problem twice..
sounds like your torque converter is going out. If you need to build up revs to get the torque converter to pump enough fluid to pressurize the gears, your converter may be going out. Once you gets enough pressure, that is when you get the "kick" in gears.
To reset the front seat headrests on a 2012 Dodge Avenger after an accident, first ensure the vehicle is stationary and turned off. Locate the release button on the side of each headrest and press it while pushing the headrest down to its lowest position. If the headrest is stuck due to the accident, gently pull it up while pressing the release button. Once reset, adjust the headrest to your desired height.
To disconnect the battery on a Dodge Avenger, first ensure the vehicle is turned off and in park. Using a wrench, loosen the nut on the negative battery terminal (marked with a minus sign) and carefully remove the cable from the terminal. It's advisable to do the same for the positive terminal (marked with a plus sign) if needed, but always disconnect the negative first to avoid sparks. Once disconnected, make sure the cables are secured away from the battery terminals.
maybe a vaccume leak I had the same problem, as well. I replaced the IAC sensor and now it works.
