Try cheking your BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR. If the problem continues, you might want to check if you have a bad or dirty sensor. I have also heard that you can tighten the brake line inside the center console (where the e-brake is located) and tighten a screw closer to the driver side seat.

My mechanic had to change a switch inside the steering column. Brake lights worked when turn signal was on. Have a mechanic check that.
I know from 96-00 they wont, pretty sure it goes the same for the other models
