on the caliper take out the bottom bolt, there are two bolts that the caliper slides on and only undo the bottom one. Then the caliper will swing up and allow access to the disc pads . You need to get a G-clamp and push the piston in the caliper back( or else it wont fit back down). put it back together and pump the brakes to set the brake piston b4 you drive or the first time you go to brake you wont have any.
What size is the caliper bolt on a 2009 ford escape front brakes?
9MM for the 2 bolts on each of the 2 front end calipers. You might be able to use 11/32 if you dont have metric tools. You also wont be able to find anywhere that carrys 9mm, good luck.

Usually the crankshaft is made of harder metal than the bolt, so you should be able to just replace the bolt. But who knows for certain until you try.

I your doing the drivers side turn the steering wheel left hand down to help access to the brakes, jack up the vehicle and take off the wheel. On the inside of the brake caliper youll see 2 circular covers top and bottom, remove the bottom cover using a small screw driver and youll find a torx bolt, undo this bolt and pull the caliper open, the pads are now in the open, prise these out and replace with new ones, before you replace the caliper the pistons need to be pushed back into place, remove the brake fluid cap and push the caliper pistons back into the caliper, you can buy a tool for this but can be done without if your wound up enough. Once the caliper pistons are back into the caliper replace the caliper and replace the torx bolt, replace the brake fluid cap, replace the wheel. DONT FORGET THE PISTONS ARE PUSHED BACK INTO THERE SLEEVES, BEFORE DRIVING ALWAYS PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL TILL ITS BACK TO NORMAL sound obvious but unless you do this you wont have any brakes

well first you have to make sure you have the bearings in the wheel on both sides. then you just put them on and tighten the bolt that goes on the end of the truck. dont tighten it to much or your wheels wont spin, so make sure the wheels can spin and continue to spin, but not able to fall off

When you say the "caliper won't line up", do you mean that you can't get the new brake pads over the rotor? Most calipers must be opened up when you replace the brake pads. You can usually buy, rent or borrow a specialty tool that opens up the caliper for you. The new brake pads are much thicker than the old, worn pads, and the caliper has closed down on the old pads to keep them working. New pads wont' fit until you open up the caliper. If you're describing a different problem, you'll need to clarify.

HELLO IF YOU HAVE TAKEN OFF THE TWO BOLTS AND STILL WONT COME OFF USE A SCREW DRIVER AND PRY THE CALIPER UP FROM BETWEEN THE ROTOR AND CALIPER ALSO YOU CAN PUSH THE CALIPER BACK TOWARDS THE INNER SPRING BETWEEN THE CALIPER AND ROTOR SITS THIS WILL PUSH THE CALIPER BACK AND GIVE YOU EXTRA CLEARANCE TO PULL UP THE CALIPER
