I believe on almost any GM/Chevy/Pontiac vehicle you turn off DRL by pushing the dome light round grey switch, underneath the headlight switch. It will cycle between dome light on/off and DRL.
Be sure the dome light override switch is turned off.
To replace the dome light switch on a 1998 Mercury Tracer, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, remove the dome light assembly by gently prying it down from the ceiling. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old switch and replace it with the new one, ensuring a secure connection. Finally, reattach the dome light assembly and reconnect the battery terminal.
If the dome light in your 1996 Sunfire won't turn off, it could be due to a faulty door switch that isn't recognizing when the door is closed. Another possibility is that the interior light delay timer is malfunctioning. Check to ensure all doors are fully closed and inspect the switches for any dirt or damage. If the issue persists, it may require further electrical troubleshooting.
My 98 gets pried off with a flathead screwdriver.
To replace the dome light in a 2003 Pontiac Vibe with a sunroof, first, ensure the vehicle is off and the light has cooled down. Gently pry off the light cover using a flathead screwdriver or a trim tool to avoid damage. Remove the old bulb by twisting it counterclockwise, then insert the new bulb by twisting it clockwise until secure. Finally, replace the light cover by snapping it back into place.
The dome light switch on the dash is on.
I Figured it out. The dome light lens is hinged on the passenger side so you just pry the driver's side of the lens out and down to replace the bulb. The lens does not come completely like on other models.
