Need to replace the OD relay which is behind the glove box. Remove glove box and look to left. White relay. Found on eBay for 12 bucks. Hope that is the problem.
The overdrive transmission that a 1992 Chevrolet C3500 would have is a 4L80E. It is a series of automatic transmissions from General Motors.
On the 1992 Buick Roadmaster, the overdrive feature is controlled by the transmission, specifically the 4L60E automatic transmission. There is no separate overdrive switch; instead, the overdrive engages automatically when the vehicle is in Drive (D) and the transmission reaches a certain speed. To disable overdrive, you can shift the transmission into the "3" position, which prevents it from shifting into overdrive.
The Ford Crown Victoria has an automatic 4-speed overdrive transmission. In 1992, the transmission was redesigned to include electronic controls.
Overdrive might not work on a 1992 Dakota because there is a problem with the transmission. The shift solenoid or a belt is not functioning properly inside the transmission.
No it will not interchange. You need an Accord transmission from a 1990-1993.
You can use any SAE certified automatic transmission fluid in your 1992 Mitsubishi. You should never overfill your automatic transmission fluid.
A518 is the transmission if it is an automatic, and if it is a manual then it is a Getrag 360.
Depending on the transmission type, a 1992 Volvo 940 requires: Automatic transmission: Dexron III (technically, Dexron II, but most brands on the market these days are all upgraded to DEX III). Or, you can also use Volvo's OE brand of automatic transmission fluid, which of course meets the specs of Dexron II/III. The fluid capacity is 2.2 quarts. 4 speed Manual transmission: Type F (2.8 quarts) 5 speed Manual transmission: Type F (1.6 quarts)
Behind the ashtray--google "Volvo 940 overdrive relay" for detailed answers on how to get to it. It's beyond the fuse panel, the white one with black print on the right.
the only thing that would be diffrent is the overdrive.
I second this question--only for a 1992 Volvo 240. My girlfriend would like to drive home...although she gets to stay here until it's fixed. ;)
Remove the fuse from the fuse box. Or remove the relay.
