check cigarette lighter fuse
Check behind the receptacle, it may be unplugged.
They are not on the same fuse, and some cigarette lighters wont operate unless the engine is running,or key is in acc.position. Additionally the rear AC plug is directly connected to the engine but the cigarette lighter is not.
Either your starter or ignition..
one solution is to check the 2 prongs in the lighter unit..sometimes they get pushed apart and dont hold the lighter in place to heat up...push them back together and it should work fine, but dont push them in 2 far or they wont let go of the lighter once its heated up.
If the car is left sitting for a long time and not running, yes. In some cars the cigarette lighter wont work unless the car is on for this reason.
can't handle capacity. Check the fuse for that power supply, it may be blown. I have had problems with Magellan power cords. Had to replace twice.
You have to check your fuse for the lighter...if that doesnt work pep boys or autozone has a little to that they touch it with to see if it has any power if not then you might have to remove your dash to make sure wires are not rubbing or that everything is connected and plugged right
as anyone who smokes cigs, should know once the flame from a lighter touches the paper and tobacco and you breathe in it helps start a fire. i dont know what people expect do they expect it to be blue or what? and actually if you put the cigarette out on your arm it wont be red anymore, always put a cigarette out on some part of your body, never litter ;)
Probably - replace it and see
Check your local library, they may have a auto repair database that would have wiring diagrams, ours does.
