Probably an issue with the main line. Tree roots possible or collapsing. One thing you might try if it is just buildup in the line. Get a 5 gallon bucket full of water and pour it in the toilet as fast as it will take it. Enough so that the level in the bowl comes up to the underneath side of the rim. This may open up the line for a while.

Trich is a sexually transmitted infection, however there have been cases of non-sexual transmission. Like sharing unwashed, underwear or towels with someone who has it; Sharing swim suits that aren't fully washed/dried; Sitting naked on the ledge of a hot tub; Sitting on a toilet seat where someone else who had trich, dripped their vaginal discharge on the seat and you inadvertently touched that to your own vagina (yeh, I know, gross!). There was even some research done on toilet splash-up-- you know, if you sit on the toilet and flush before getting up, some of those high powered older toilets will flush with such vigor that you may get a wet butt! So the answer is yes, it is possible, although remotely possible to get trich without having sex from an infected partner.
