games for a PS1 will work on a PS2 but will not be any better quality, and games for a PS2 will not work on a PS1 Yes. They can. But the graphics may not be as good on a PS2 as a PS1.

PC games, xbox games, or wii games wont work on ps3 some models will play PS and ps2 games but some don't depends on the system
Maybe you buy PAL Game but your ps2 is working only in NTSC or vice versa.
It is likely a scratched or dirty disc if other games work fine
Yes, all PS2 games will work on a PS3 system, including Okami. No only a couple of the first PS3s could play the PS2 games. The slim PS3 will never be able to play any PS2 games
There is a PCSX2 emulation program that needs a PS2 Bios to work. It or any other program will not play games as well or trouble free as a PS2 does
NO ps2 games don't work in Ps1 only Ps1 games works on Ps2
