First try changing the Fuel Filter. If this doesn't fix the problem you have a few options.

A) If your check engine light is on take it to Auto Zone or local auto parts store and have them read the code so you will have a better idea of what to approach next.

B) If your spark plugs have over 100,000 miles on them you really need to change them also. Might not do anything, but it's inexpensive and will help the vehicle to run smoother after.

C) Check to make sure the air filter is clean and free of any blockages.

D) Might be your catalytic converter??

E) Might be a bad ignition coil??

I'm not sure how efficient you are around an engine, if this seems to much take it to a professional!
