Why wont the 2003 gmc envoy blower motor wont shut off?
Why won't your blower fan turn off in your 2004 Silverado Everything else works great except it will not shut off and will drain battery?
When the blower motor stays on it means there is a short to power, or the relay is sticking. 99.9% of the time the relay sticks. I belive on the 2004 silverados the blower motor relay is internal to the blower motor resistor. Try to find an auxillary blower motor relay and if there isn't one then replace the blower motor resistor.
My bet would be a bad rheostat.... It is located in the same vicinity as the blower motor itself and is what controls the speed of the blower motor. Kind of difficult to get at under the dash but not too bad. Will usually be one electrical connection to the blower motor and 2 screws to hold the rheostat in the mounting bracket.
Why will blower motor on 97 Chevy p-up be working when shut off and then restart p-up in a few minutes blower motor will not work If you pound on the box under the dash it will eventualy restart?
RE-TYPE I would think that the blower motor is bad and the fuse is failing. Causing the entire electrical sys on the truck to fail and shut down. Hope this helps. To see... take out the blower fuse and put in a new one and turn it on. If it still does the same thing it could be bad wiring. hope this helps!
What would cause the heater blower motor on a '94 Explorer not to operate if you shut the vehicle off for a few minutes and restart it?
What should you do if you replaced the blower motor with a new one and it worked for about 5 minutes and then shut off and the burning wire smell started again?
Why can't you turn off the fan for the heater in our 2003 Chrysler town and country When I shut the power to the climate control off the fan blows harder?
What would cause the air handler blower motor to shut off and smell like burning wires coming out of the vents and is there a solenoid that might cause this?
The blower motor on my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT stayed running after I shut off the ignition then I restarted the car and it quit working altogther Is it the blower motor?
Your A/C drain plug is clogged causing water to leak into the blower motor which causes a short. To resolve jack up the car and properly support it using axle stands. Locate the black tube coming out of the firewall near the centre. Using a coat hanger insert into tube until there is resistance the wiggle back and forth until water starts to drip. On the inside of the passenger footwell remove the under dash…
If your Towncar has automatic climate control it will shut off when the set temperature is achieved. try turning down the Temp. If this does not work, you may have to replace the sensor. Check the blower motor power lead for an intermittent connectivity due to having been overheated. This can be caused by blower motor drawing too many amps (my case, replace the motor) or a bad spade terminal on the power lead (repair…
I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler Sport Only the highest setting on my ac heat works to blow air sometimes it starts to blow cool air and shut off after heat has been on for long time any idea whats broke?
Check the bulkhead fitting on the firewall where the electrical feeds into the blower motor. It's a $2 part that is molded to the blower motor on your system. If it is loose or broken, you have to by a whole new, few hundred dollar, blower motor because that part is not replacable by itself. It happened to me on my '01 Sport, which i assume is very similar. The symptoms were all the same…
the air wont run if engine is shut off. u need engine running to operate the compressor. i would check the rear air blower. sounds like the blower switch is not working or there is a short in blower motor get it checked before it causes a fire in vehicle . try removing rear blower fuse and see it that stops it it is a good place to start looking for the problem
On my 1985 Corvette it is located on the top side of the Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Motor housing, right side when looking towards the firewall. It has a 4 pin connector and 3 screws hold it to the housing, the resistor coils stick down into the housing to get cooling air. If it is defective or the contacts have corrosion it can cause the blower motor to operate only in the HIGH position…
On my 92 Limited it was a blower control module. Around $100 if I remember right. Other models use a blower motor resistor that is less expensive. In either case it would be located under the dash in an easily accessible location. Once you see the replacement part you can located it by shape and screw holes. Hope this helps! Paul
What would cause a 1997 cadilliac catera blower motor to stay running with the key off and removed from ignition?
Since the blower motor draws so many amps it cannot be controlled by a simple contact. Instead it receives it's voltage from a relay that opens to brake the electrical flow and makes to turn it on. The contacts in this relay can easily handle the current. Find the relay for the motor and replace it. It has pitted and is hooked closed allowing current to flow even after the key is shut off.
