You could have a problem with your alternator, which supplies electricity to the engine. That is the most common problem I've had with my neon.
The other possibilities could be that the O2 sensors [pre and post the catalytic converter] could be damaged or dirty.
Heres a question that could help answer the question. How long does it stay started before it cuts off? if the answer is roughly 5 to 10 minutes at most, then its the alternator. If the answer is about 1 to 2 hours depending on if your driving on the highway then it could be the O2 sensors.

The yellow dashboard warning light you are seeing on your 2003 Dodge Neon is most likely the fuse warning light. You will most likely need to go to a mechanic to find out which fuse needs to be replaced.
A 2003 Dodge Neon that starts but doesn't stay running could be experiencing several issues. Common causes include a faulty fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or a malfunctioning ignition system, such as bad spark plugs or ignition coils. Additionally, problems with the mass air flow sensor or issues in the engine control unit could disrupt the air-fuel mixture, preventing the engine from maintaining idle. Lastly, a vacuum leak could also lead to unstable engine performance.
If the computer is running, the memory (RAM) almost assuredly is as well.
A 1989 Chevy Cavalier will not stay running after it has started if the spark plugs are fouled, the fuel filter is dirty, or it has a vacuum leak. Taking the vehicle to a local mechanic or dealership can pinpoint the problem.
Your headlights might stay on even when the key is removed from the ignition and the switch is off because this is a safety feature in the 1999 Dodge Neon. You can use your vehicle's manual to find out how to turn off this feature if it bothers you. The lights should shut off after a few minutes.
