I think its probably because they can smell their own dog smell. Added: Dogs are like people, they are not like cats where if you die, cats will eat you, but dogs will not eat you. Anyways like I was saying before, dogs are different. Smart in ways, some may not seem very smart to you, but were just like them. They know that they don't want to be a "cannibal" as we would put it. Cats would care less if they ate there brother, or sister.
