I don't know where you heard that watching cartoons is a bad thing as it has been clinically proven to a great degree that cartoons and comics stimulate intellectual development and produce, among other things, higher comprehension and vocabulary characteristics in subjects. They do! I don't know about the adults you are around, but there are millions of adults that enjoy anime, animated movies and even kids cartoons. The Simpsons is enjoyed by a huge percentage of the population, as is South Park. There are entire animated series that are enjoyed by adults.
