Hard starting is caused by a couple of things first is the engine is cold and so is the fuel. Do you plug in the block heater? Do all of the glow plugs work?A nother reason is the a bad starter motor. We had a truck with same problem which we didn't figure out for quite some time. Eventually, the starter died on the truck, way out in the middle of nowhere, and we had to have a new one brought out to us. When the starter was replaced the engine turned over and started like a new truck. So have your starter tested before you spend big bucks on glow plugs etc if you haven't been plugging in block heater because you cant find cord, look between radiator and grill. The cords are rolled up and hidden there until a user finds it and uses it
