Reasons why a 1987 Chevy Celebrity might not have a spark:
1. The crankshaft position sensor has failed.
2. The ignition module has failed.
3. The engine computer has failed.
4. There is a wiring problem.
5. It could also be failed coils, but I would not expect all three coils would fail at once.
The fuse block on a Chevy Celebrity is located on the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering column.
Drop the fuel tank.
Timing on a 1987 Celebrity is controlled by the engine control module, computer. There is no provision for adjustment.
Ours was an '87 and it weighed about 2600 lbs.

10w30, we used to own an 87, so we know.
All 1987 to 1990 Chevy Celebrity engines use distributorless ignition. Timing is controlled by the engine control module in conjunction with the ignition module. There is no provision for adjustment.
The drain cock is on the driver's side of the radiator at the bottom of the end pan.
my '87 celebrity does the same thing sometimes when i change gears from park to drive or even reverse and step on the gas my mechanic says it could be the choke. have it checked
The gas filter is in the fuel line next to the gas tank on the drivers side of the car.
Try replacing the camshaft sensor... had the same problem on an 89 and changed the sensor... works great now
I would suspect that if it is getting fuel and not starting it would be that it is not getting any spark. If you find that it is not getting spark you could check: Ignition module Crank position sensor Engine control module Associated wiring and connectors
