It would be interesting to know how a dog was "taught" not to eat its feces, since eating droppings is a natural behavior for many dogs and it is difficult to prevent them from doing this. It seems to me that the animal might be missing a vitamin, mineral or other nutrient in his diet. Feeding dogs a tablespoon or two of 100% pumpkin with each meal will often discourage them from eating feces. This supplement might also provide the missing ingredient your pet is searching for. You might consider supervising your pooch when he's out on potty break to prevent him from extracurricular snacking.

To start boosting their self-esteem, gradually building up to eating. Once they are eating at least a litte, it will slowly start building up to actual meals. But you can't pressure or force them to eat and keep it down. You must keep being supportive and building up their self-esteem to make them see that they are amazing just the way they are. But in the end, if it does not work out, I would say a rehab center would do just the trick :) Positive words and attitude will work amazingly.
