There are a number of reasons, ranging from trauma to polyps to one of the reproductive system cancers. Bleeding should always be investigated to find out which one is the cause.

There are really two ways to tell if a cow (or heifer) is a virgin or not. One is by the size of the vulva, and the other by the udder and teats.
