Because part of what sets the value for a used car is how long they've been driven. Setting the odo back will make the car look like it hasn't been used that much, which can make it more valuable. It's dishonest and illegal in most places.

What does ODO off means?

ODO stands for Odometer. OD stands for Overdrive. You cannot turn the odometer off, but can hide the display on some vehicles. So it would seem this is telling you the Overdrive is turned off. Look for a button on the shift lever to turn it back on.

Since the SPEEDOMETER shows how fast you're currently going, then to turn it back you would just have to put on the brakes, or drive slower. Your ODOMETER shows how many Kms or Miles you've driven and it CANNOT be turned back LEGALLY.

Press and hold the odometer button and keep held. Turn the key back"on" (engine off) and the odometer will turn to dashes. Keep holding the button until the numbers return. The light is now reset.
