Apes usually are only violent when protecting their grouping or territory and have many human qualities. Scientists who have studied gorillas (enough to scare the pants off you) have been invited into the grouping of the family of gorillas and accepted and treated well and never harmed. There are a certain species of wild apes that will kill and are out for blood. The bite is vicious and they can kill in packs.
