How is garbage dumping a big problem?

It's not good because it pollutes the water, mutates the life there (if they survive the pollution) and it means there are no other areas to create landfills. It is also because the garbage that are thrown into the water will eventually wash up on shores all over the place, creating mini landfills on every coastline.

Litter often ends up in waterways such as lakes, rivers and oceans, then it is not safe to drink or use for swimming or fishing.

because if any animal gets in it they have a chance of dying. for example if the plastic holding the pop cans together gets stuck on a seals mouth they will not be able to eat.
