Some colleges charge money for people to study there - that's their business, and they do need to cover diverse costs. On the other hand, depending where you live, there are some colleges that are free - free for the student, that is. Usually such colleges get their money from some government.Even if you go to a free college, you may still need to pay for textbooks; as well as food and lodging.
