The most obvious reason would be that perhaps your dog is cold, for reasons being of cool weather conditions (as they shiver and tremble just like humans do in the cold), and maybe the trembling is dependant on the length of your dog's coat, and if it is paticularly short; it is obvious it is more likely to feel the cold.
Or perhaps your dog has lost weight and does not have enough fat on him/her to shield itself from the bitterness of the cold.
However, more serious issues could concern trembling as one of the symptoms of chronic kidney failure, and other illnesses and diseases like other internal organ failure.
Another likely cause of this tremble or shake could be caused by anxiety - perhaps another pet causing him/her to be nervous could be the reason and although this will probably not be the case; physically punishing your dog could cause him to be nervous and frightened in your presence.
Or your dog might simply be in pain, and may have something stuck in his/her paw, or aching legs or other related type issues.
If the trembling continues or is currently continuous, consult a vet and action will be taken.

Trembling is a sign of intense fear in a dog. Anyone who spanks a dog, expecting it to think/understand as a human, should not have a dog in the first place.
there is no reason to abuse a dog, unless if its attacking you and you have to hurt it, other than that there is no reason.

Pitbulls shake for a number of reasons,if it is a female she might be going into labour, a young dog recently taken from its mother some times shakes (mine did at first) a dog that is nervous or scared but the most common reason is that , the pitbull breed has a thin coat, and they get cold very easilly , so the best cure for that is, a warm blanket and a loving hand, older dogs or dogs with separaion anziety shake too ect.
