Is applesauce a liquid?

No, applesauce is not considered part of a clear liquid diet. Instead, applesauce is part of a "soft diet", where foods are solid, but still soft and don't require chewing. If you're ordered to maintain a "clear liquid diet", this would be clear fluids or foods that turn to clear fluids when they are at room temperature, such as broth, tea, jell-o, popsicles, etc. Unfortunately, applesauce does not fully liquify at room temperature.
