in VW's when you have the breaks adjusted out too far they tend to grab when reversing. There is an auto adjuster in the rear drum to keep your rear brakes adjusting. If the brakes are worn out they will "hang up" after reverse and cause squeeling.

A 1970 junker would cost around $500 a 1970 1/2 falcon junker would cost about 1,000 dollars. A 1970 fully restored one would cost about 20,000 a 1970 1/2 falcon would be about 25,000 dollars because it is rare.
A Catalina would be wider

Anything is possible !!! All it takes is MONEY & TIME !! I Don't mean to be a wise guy, only the truth is spoken here! personally, I don't know of anyone who has done that conversion, But my question to you is, why would you go through that expense on a 37 year old vehicle? Honestly, for that kind of money, you can buy a new truck with rear disc brakes already on it. But that's just my honest opinion. Ben
