The ground on a peninsula is constantly saturated and rich.
Advantages: there would be a lot of water to fish and get food in; if there is a lot of water surrounding the peninsula there would most likely be fertile land; Disadvantages: there would be only one way to get to the main land; that's all that i can think of sorry
Fertile
An island is an area of land surrounded by water.
it could be sumeria, arabian peninsula or fertile crescent
The southern Italian region of Calabria has some of the most fertile land on all of the peninsula; its economy is still based largely on agriculture, and indeed, even its name comes from the Greek "Kalòs-Bruo" which means fertile land.
Southern Europe's most fertile land is located mainly in Italy and the Balkan Peninsula, typically along the coastline of the Adriatic or the Black Seas.

A peninsula is a piece of land that is almost entirely surrounded by water. An antonym for peninsula would be bay, as a bay is a body of water that is almost entirely surrounded by land.
A piece of land that is surrounded by water on only three sides and connected to a main land mass on one side is called a peninsula. Florida would be a good example.

It would depend where the land is, if the land is on fertile soil, it would cost more then the same amount of space in a dessert.
