Oxycodone is an Opiate. Depending on why you are being tested, many places that test and find opiates, benzodiazapines etc will 'excuse' the find on the test with a valid note from your doctor.

How can urine show positive for oxycodone when you didnt take it?

You can't. Perhaps you did not know you were taking an oxycodone product.~ALSO if you paid attention to mythbusters, you would know that poppyseeds can create a positive result for opiates on a drug test. Oxycodone does not have products. Oxycodone IS AN opiate.

Is Oxycontin a benzo?

Valium has a much-longer half life than opiates, so it stays in your system much longer (up to several weeks). Oxycontin, on the other hand, is usually out of your system in just a few days. It all depends on your metabolism, usage, etc.

If you have taken soma and hydrocodone will it show up as positive for Oxycontin use?

Urinalyses look for Opiates, not specific ones. Hydrocodone and oxycodone, both being opiates, will trigger a positive on a urinalysis that's looking for opiates. So to answer your question...if you take soma and hydrocodone you will not pass, but the Soma won't have anything to do with it.

Does soma contain oxycodone?

No.. Oxycodone is an opiate derivative (more properly termed 'opioid'). Oxycodone is in the same chemical class as Morphine, Codeine, Heroin(diacetylmorphine), and hundreds of others. These drugs bind to opiate receptors in the brain, and the intestinal tract, depressing respiration, relieving feelings of pain, and usually give off a feeling of euphoria or well-being. Opiates, obviously, are highly addictive, and stopping opiate use can cause horrible physical withdrawal symptoms. Carisoprodol is the active ingredient in the medication Soma, and works as a centrally-acting skeletal muscle-relaxant. It shares no chemical relation to the opiates (Oxycodone), and works at completely different binding sites in the body. Carisoprodol has, however, been shown to potentiate opiates. Meaning that if a person were taking oxycodone AND Carisoprodol, the effects of the oxycodone would be stronger. But, in short.. Soma contains Carisoprodol, and is in no way related to the opiates. Hope this helps.. Take Care, -J. Mendrola

Can you take a 10 mg oxycodone with a 5 mg hydrocodone together?

Yes absolutely. These drugs are from the same family of opiates. The oxycodone is a little stronger, but they work the same. Just take them 4-6 hours apart.

If you are precribed hydrocodone and take 1 10mg oxycodone and have a urine test in a week can the oxycodone show up or will it show up same as hydrocodone?

"Hydrocodone and Oxycodone are from the same family "OPIATES". Your urine test, if broad, will show up as positive for opiates and if it is for legal reasons, like probation, they usually will order a more in-depth test to distinguish between Hydrocodone (Class 3 scheduled drug) and Oxycodone (Class 2 Schedule Drug). Same answer from someone else below:... Actually it depends on the test. A simple home test will only show opiates, a better test will show a difference between the two drugs.

If you take orlistat will you fail a drug test?

You took opiates 2 days ago and have a drug test in a couple hours are you going to fail?

It depends on the opiates and your metabolism, but yes, expect failure. If you were prescribed the opiates from a physician, ask for a copy of the prescription, or take a doctor's note (signed) stating your need for the prescription. If you were taking these without a prescription, for a valid medical condition, I would suggest seeing a physician for appropriate evaluation and treatment.

What did you take to have a positive UA for opiates?

How can you pass a swab test to take opiates out of your saliva?
