I think the ear is extremely extremely sensitive to the vibrations(activities) going on in the brain, as there is air(medium) present everywhere, the working factory of the brain radiates waves of certain frequency constantly and one hears a ringing sound like : "Tchooonk!!" continuously.

and of course one thing is surprising - the sound exactly matches with the crickets singing outside, at night...................!!!
