To get more peaches! The peach's seed is usually already split by the time the peach is ripe. At this time of year, planting the whole thing will give the seedling much needed nutrients to mature into a sapling.

Since the peach tree is a mature tree in 5-7 years, it would be relatively easy to grow your own orchard, provided you have the space.
