Personally I would not understand why they would use doxy of all things to treat swollen lymph nodes of the neck usually that suggests a viral and is something that has to fight itself out however if there is an infection the best treatment for the lymph nodes is usually a myacin (i.e. Clindomyacin, Erythromyacin, Azithromyacin(Zithromax), or Even if you can tolerate them Ampicillin, Penicillin, Amoxicillin these all are much more effective then doxycycline. Doxycycline is usually used for respiratory infections, pelvic inflammatory diseases, and peridontal disease. Hope this answer is helpful

How do you cure swollen lymph nodes behind ears?

If it is a lymph node that is swollen and painful, you should see a doctor to have it diagnosed and treated. Sometimes the salivary glands can be painful and swollen in front of the ear if the duct that the saliva flows through to your mouth gets blocked. If it is only on one side, came on very suddenly and perhaps while you were eating, that might be the cause of the swelling. If so, sometimes you can wash out the plug by eating something very sour to make lots of saliva flow through the saliva duct, such as sucking on a lemon. If that does not quickly resolve the problem, then definitely seek medical attention, swollen lymph nodes can indicate infection and other disorders that need to be treated without delay.

What is treatment for dermatopathic lymphadenitis?

I was diagnosed with this as well. From what I understand, it's swollen lymph nodes resulting from a skin infection/disease. So the treatment would be to treat the skin disease. In my instance however, I don't have a skin disease... and 3 md's didn't know what it was!

What do you do if you have swollen lymph nodes?

A doctor can prescribe an antibiotic if the lymph node gland gets very large or painful. Under normal conditions, no care is needed because they take care of themselves. You have 8 that I can think of. Two on the sides of your neck, one under each armpit, one near the inside of each arm at the elbow and one on each leg near the femur / pelvis joint. Lymph nodes collect poisions or harmful bacteria laden white blood cells and allow them to pass into the body at a rate that the body can deal with them.
