If it is a lymph node that is swollen and painful, you should see a doctor to have it diagnosed and treated.

Sometimes the salivary glands can be painful and swollen in front of the ear if the duct that the saliva flows through to your mouth gets blocked. If it is only on one side, came on very suddenly and perhaps while you were eating, that might be the cause of the swelling. If so, sometimes you can wash out the plug by eating something very sour to make lots of saliva flow through the saliva duct, such as sucking on a lemon. If that does not quickly resolve the problem, then definitely seek medical attention, swollen lymph nodes can indicate infection and other disorders that need to be treated without delay.

If a person is running a high fever has a enlarged spleen swollen lymph nodes and severe abdominal pain what does this men?

Fever, enlarged spleen, and swollen lymph nodes are indicative of mononucleosis. Abdominal pain along with a swollen spleen suggests that the pain is due to the swollen spleen. A person with a swollen spleen should avoid lifting heavy things and all contact sports as it could rupture the spleen. While there is no medication that can be given to cure mono, there are things that can aleviate symptoms. High fever that is present for more than 48 hours should be evaluated by a doctor.

OK, I have a better ?

OK, I have a better picture of what is going on now. Some people with RA are known to have the problems with hearing that you are describing, and it is something that is chronic and there is no known cure. With that being said, hearing problems are not necessarily a common feature of RA. My impression in your case is that this may be Enbrel related. You were on a large dose when this started, presumably to control your RA symptoms. Enbrel is known to cause swollen lymph nodes and there is a good supply of lymph nodes in the neck. Perhaps your swollen lymph nodes may be putting pressure on your ear canal and middle ear and causing the symptoms that you are experiencing. When you go in for your next shot, inform your physician of what is happening. That way you have a physician that is able to examine your ear and hopefully confirm what I believe is happening. If this is the case, it can be treated. Best of luck to you. If you have no other questions, please click 'accept'. Otherwise, I am at your disposal, just respond to this question. Thank you.

What are the most common sites for mestastic breast cancer?

Breast cancer most commonly metastasises first to lymph nodes in the axilla of the same side as the affected breast. In more advanced disease, the cancer commonly metastasises to lymph nodes in other regions, to bone, to the liver, and/or to the lungs, and later possibly also to the contralateral breast and to other organs. When there is no evident lymph node metastasis or distant metastasis, the sentinel node may be examined to confirm absence of axillary lymph node metastasis. The lymph nodes in the axilla drain fluid (lymph) from the breast by interconnecting lymph vessels, and the "sentinel node" is the first node to receive lymph from the particular tumour. If there is no tumour in the sentinel node (and no signs of metastasis to other sites), breast cancer has a very good chance of cure after treatment.

Is prostate Brachytherapy a viable option for prostate cancer?

My understanding is that Brachytherapy is used to slow down the progression of prostate cancer. But it is not a cure. It is used when the cancer has progressed out side the prostate gland into the lymph nodes in the abdomen. I could be wrong, I have been before :|
