If only happens the first time you drive the vehicle for the day - could be normal due to rust accumulation overnite due to condensation If happens all the time could be worn brake linings Could be wear indicators notifying you that pads need replacment Could be a frozen caliper not releasing fully Could be a broken return spring (drum brakes)
Get your brakes tested. I do not know what a ticking sound means.
Yes.
Yes.... the brakes will make a "metallic" sound when the brakes are getting worn.
Yes, they make a screeching sound.
When motorcycle brakes lock, they make a light grinding sound accompanied by the loud screeching of the tires. When the brakes lock, the tires are forced to slide along the pavement until the brakes are released on the bike stops.
Brakes dragging? Emergency brake not releasing? Rear brakes not adjusted properly? Frozen front caliper? Bad "U" Joint? Bad master cylinder- not allowing fluid to return to resevoir?
Make sure that under the rotor it is not draging on the rotor debree cleaner. I bent mine toward the motor and it stopped making a noise. If its the brakes dragging for sure you need to change the caliper.
no sound.. if they screech it's a sign you need new pads
Could be your brakes. If you have drum brakes not disk brakes that sound will happen when your shoes are worn down to the rivets. Some of the hardware such as springs, may have came off as well, which will make the loose metal sound.
a screching noise when you stop hard. what what what...................................................................................................................................................................
Transfer case is shot.
It's probably a loose suspension or brake component and the axle assembly is shifting slightly when you hit the brakes. I'd have to hear it to be sure.
