I would think you probably have 2 problems. Check the brake light switch on the pedal first and get the light s to go off then you may have to take the console off and clean the linkage for the trans as coffee and cokes get spilled on them and cause them to stick.
check the fuse for the brake lights, they have thier own. also check the brake light switch at the at the top of the brake petal
probably a faulty or mis-aligned brake light switch.
check your fuses
Bad brake switch. Typically located at the top of the brake pedal.
It sounds like your brakelight switch is stuck. It's located above the brake pedal.
It should say TAIL for taillights or maybe brake lights.
try unscrewing the back light covers and replacing the lights
This usually means a bad or wrong bulb in the tail lights
replace the lamp socket they short in a strange way, it happened to me 3x. the socket carbonized from bulb heat
Defective or mis-adjusted brake light switch
Brake light switch needs adjusting or replacement.
They aren't. The brake light circuit is not connected with the headlight circuit.
