Why you use dot net in URLs?

.net is the URL suffix used to indicate a primary service provider or ISP (NETwork providers).

.com is for COMmercial sites.

.edu is for schools and other EDUcational entities.

.gov is for the GOVernment sites.

There are others that are coming into use, such a biz.
