What is sadaqah-ul-Fitr?
Sadqah tu-Fitr is the name of the amount of charity which the Muslims must give to the poor during or at the end of the month of Ramazan. It is in a way thanksgiving as well. In this way the Muslims help the poor Muslims so that they and their children should also celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr happily. It should be paid during the last week of Ramazan, however it could be paid in the morning of Eid. It is equal to about two kilograms of wheat or its price per each member of the family, even the child that takes birth on that day. This is the lowest rate.
