I don't think so, given that the engine became computer controlled in 1996.
I they are the same size they might bolt up just fine but I'm not sure how much work it would be to convert it to computer control.
The Suburban and Silverado drive trains were almost unchanged from 1988 thru 1995 and 1996 thru 2000.
