Mrs. Bethany claims that they let humans in evernight to create a new learning experience for the students in the first book. that is the only answer you get in the book evernight (first of the saga), and i may not be the best of help because i have only read the first book and am starting the second tonight, but anyway, i think there is a darker, "secret" reason why she let humans in that you will find out later in the saga.
Is Evernight by Claudia Gray scary?
In my opinion, Evernight by Claudia Gray isn't particularly scary, but if you don't like to read about if bloodsucking this book is not for you, on the other hand if you're okay with bloodsucking this is a fantastic book, perfect for vampire lovers, especially if you've read and liked the house of night series by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast (if not it's a great read). this book does have some fight scenes but they are not graphic and also some scenes where she drinks blood but other than that it is great. P.S: Look out for Stargazer, Hourglass and Afterlife the second, third and fourth books in the Evernight series.
