lt1 is a 350
Answer The 86 Chevy block and the 87 Chevy block are the exact same block, nothing changed, it will fit perfectly.yes
The 5.7 heads will work if they have the smaller 184 intake valves . Or you will have to bore the block over to get the 194 ,200,or 202 intake valves to fit into the cylinder if not it will lock it up when the valve opens and hits the edge of the block
No, the Chevy 454 has a long stoke and requires a big block. However, it is possible to build a 454 small block using aftermarket parts. You'll need some high flowing heads to make it work.
Chevy in 1977 changed the rear main oil seal to a one piece seal. the older crankshaft wont work.
Yes they are the same block and heads you might have to swap intakes though
yes! depending on the block. ie. a 350 or 305 will work with newer heads and intakes. as long as you have the correct gasket. the heads can not be reverse flow. they will not work without modification.
no
Yes, but running a 350 cam with 305 heads is not effective, you need to run 350 heads as well. In order to benefit from a 350 cam you need something to flow that extra fuel and air, so using 350 heads along side of the 350 cam will be the cheapest and best choice. HAVE FUN!! A 350 head can physically bolt onto a 305 block. However, 350 heads can have the valves extend into the cylinder and contact the cylinder wall (even with the smaller 305 cam). The 350 cam in the 305 with stock heads will work. You wont want to use 350 heads you will lose compression due to the largers combustion chambers.
The heads will fit the block, but the vortec intake manifold will not bolt to the old style heads.
That's what should be on it.
Yes the block should work fine but make sure the water passages in the heads line up. That is as long as your camaro came with a v8 otherwise it will need a bit more.
Yes you can but you will need to modify the bolt holes in the intake manifold. The TBI intake 4 center bolts, 2 on each side will not line up with the heads. Must drill them out just a little.
